Texture is defined as the details that visually describe how something feels physically. The three things that define texture are depth, contrast and patterns. I learned that the higher the f/stop number, the more details you will capture. If you use a smaller number then you will see more blur in your images. I realize that using a tripod is always the best idea because no matter how still you are your hands will still shake when pressing the shutter button. I am going to start looking at even the most boring things because even those have some type of texture to them. It is very important to have a good eye when shooting for texture.

This photographer did a great job at capturing this creature. He used the rule of thirds which makes this photo much better then if the subject had been centered. It is amazing how many different colors are captured on this reptiles body. The reptile has a very bumpy and rigid texture. One of the best parts is the creatures head and eyes where we can really see each and every detail and bump. You can see the little white spikes under the mouth, which makes the reptile look a little more scary. I think the photographer did a good job framing the photo. I like how he did not capture the plant it was on. It is better that it is only the subject and not the plant it is sitting on.
